Start: Moshi · End: Zanzibar·13 Days / 12 Nights·Camping & Beach Hotel·Private Trip

A private 13-day trip: seven days on Kilimanjaro's Machame route, with hotel nights in Moshi before and after, then a flight to Zanzibar and four nights at a beach hotel.

Climb First, Then Rest by the Sea

After summit night, most climbers want one thing: rest. This trip gives you both halves. You climb Kilimanjaro on the 7-day Machame route, one of the most scenic ways up: rainforest, the Shira Plateau, Lava Tower, the Barranco Wall and the long walk to Uhuru Peak, with an extra night at Karanga to help your body adjust.

The day after you come down, you fly from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar. Four nights at a beach hotel give tired legs time to recover in warm water and sea air. You can spend them doing nothing, or we can add a spice farm visit, a Stone Town walk or a snorkelling trip with a local partner, at extra cost.

Questions Travellers Ask

Why the 7-day Machame route?

It is one of the most scenic routes, and the extra night at Karanga gives your body more time to adjust to the altitude than the 6-day plan. That improves your chance of reaching the summit.

Can we choose another route?

Yes. We can build the same trip around our Lemosho, Rongai or Marangu climbs. Ask us for a price.

How do we get from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar?

By a scheduled flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport, about an hour and a half. The fare is included; flight times are set by the airline.

Can we do excursions on Zanzibar?

Yes. A spice farm visit, a Stone Town walk or a snorkelling trip can be added with a local partner, at extra cost.

What insurance do I need?

Travel insurance that covers trekking up to 6,000 metres and emergency evacuation. Zanzibar also requires its own inbound travel insurance, 44 US dollars per person.
