3-Day Mikumi Fly-in Safari from Zanzibar
A short safari break from Zanzibar: fly to Mikumi National Park, spend two nights in a mid-range lodge or tented camp, go on game drives on all three days and visit a Maasai village, then fly back to the beach.
One day in the park gives you a first taste, but staying overnight lets you see the plains in the early morning and late afternoon, when the light is soft and many animals are most active. Mikumi covers about 3,230 square kilometres, and its open Mkata floodplain makes animals easy to spot.
Between game drives you visit a Maasai village near the park, where families show you how they live with their cattle alongside the wildlife. Then you fly back to Zanzibar, ready for more days by the sea.
