7-Day Tanzania Family Safari
A private 7-day safari for families: Tarangire, two nights in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, with shorter driving days, a free afternoon and a visit to a Maasai village.
A Safari Planned Around Children
Children enjoy a safari most when the days are not too long. This trip breaks the journey into shorter legs, with a free afternoon in Karatu to swim or rest, and keeps the longest drives for days with plenty to see on the way.
Your vehicle and guide are yours alone, so you can stop when someone needs a break. We choose mid-range lodges and camps with family rooms or connecting tents where possible, and with a pool where we can.

Why Families Choose It
- Your own vehicle and guide: stop whenever the children need a break
- Shorter driving days and a free afternoon
- A visit to a Maasai village
- Family rooms or connecting tents where available
- Children 5-15 pay 60% of the adult price; under 5 pay 25%

Questions Families Ask
What do children pay?
Children from 5 to 15 years sharing a room with their parents pay 60% of the adult price for your group size, and children under 5 pay 25%. From 16 years the adult price applies.
Is there a minimum age?
Not for the safari itself. Some tented camps only accept children from 5 or 6 years, and balloon flights are for children from 7. Tell us your children's ages and we choose suitable places.
Are the drives too long for children?
The longest days are the drive into the Serengeti and the crater day. We plan stops, snacks and toilet breaks, and the vehicle is yours, so you can stop whenever you need to.
Can we add a beach stay?
Yes. Many families finish with a few days on Zanzibar; see our 10-Day Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar, or ask us to add beach nights to this trip.
Is the price per person or per group?
Per person. For example, two adults and two children aged 8 and 11 pay 2 × $3,110 + 2 × $1,870 = $9,960 in total.
